Cross-Media Final Deliverables x Expectations (Fall 2025)
Below please find expectations and what to prepare and submit for your Cross-Media Final Deliverables due at our Exam, Wednesday, December 17th, 3:00 pm – 6 pm in the Senior Studio on the 2nd Floor of Warren Street. We will have the tables arranged to showcase your work in a Mini Narrative Project Exhibit for the duration of our Exam Period. *Please note, there are several parts to the Final Deliverables.
Be ready to set up in Senior Studio to present your mediums:
– Show digital work (interactive, and motion, etc.) on your Laptop, iPad, or Phone (as appropriate)
– Print work such as posters etc. should be printed actual size in color, trimmed with bleeds and hung on the wall or displayed on tables if we run out of room
– Publications should be printed full color and bound as you intend the design to be
– Installations and Objects, find a way to display your work in Senior Studio to resemble your intended final siting (where you intend this piece to be experienced, i.e. on the street, in a gallery, etc., etc.)

PART 1: NARRATIVE PROJECT – PHYSICAL DELIVERABLES FOR MINI EXHIBIT
1. Final Abstract for both Mediums – 8.5″ x 11″ hard copy/print
2. Prepare your Mediums for Showcase at our Mini Narrative Project Exhibit, as appropriate
(See Below)
Print-based (Publications, Posters, Cards, etc.):
+ Full color, actual size, bound publications. Make sure to print correctly, adding “bleeds” as appropriate, carefully trimmed using crop marks, and bound with attention and care. *Craft matters!*
+ Full-color, actual size posters carefully trimmed with crop marks (printed on large format, not tiled).

Interactive:
+ Final XD file, and/or .mov of screen-capture or video “simulation” etc. (saved using H.264 codec)
+ Video simulation should present your design concept’s scope, structure, and experience. It should demonstrate how the interface/interaction allows the user to “participate” in the story, and show the scope and quality of the visual feedback and interactivity of the piece.
+ 3 – 4 well-crafted mockups that show project highlights and can be used in your online portfolio
Motion:
+Final .mov (saved using H.264 codec)
+ Well-crafted mockups as high-res PDFs that show project highlights and can be used in your online portfolio
Please be sure to cite sources (if applicable). Reference online resources like the citation machine to assist.
Participatory / Installation:
+ Flat Design Files (as high resolution PDFs), and
+ Design of “in situ” Mockups – both PDF and printout/hard copy for Exam Narrative Project Showcase
(Mockup format should be either 8.5″x11″ or 11″x17,” landscape or portrait as appropriate. Use the format that will best showcase your project.)
3. Narrative Project Reflections
During our exam, each of you will showcase your narrative mediums the DC/VM conference room. Each of you should be ready to share a little about their work and Cross-Media/ Narrative project experience.
Consider the following questions:
+ What have you learned about yourself as a designer in the process of creating your narratives?
+ What was the most revealing moment about the creation of your narratives that could help next year’s seniors?
+ What aspect of your narratives makes you the most proud?
+ If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?

PART 2: NARRATIVE PROJECT – DIGITAL ARCHIVE DELIVERABLES
Upload Digital Archive of your work by Wednesday, December 17th, 3:00pm Shared Google Drive Folder titled “EXAM FINAL DELIVERABLES”
Please make a new folder titled “Last Name, First Name,” within which you organize your work into folders by subject (i.e. Cross-Media Project, Capstone Ideation), naming each file as follows: firstinitiallastname_projecttitle_cms_fall2025.
All project files should be in a pdf, mp4, etc. format, no working files.
Include both professors on colophons and Presentation PDFs, etc. Jennifer Bernstein, Severin Bunse.
Your digital Archive must include:
+ High resolution PDFs of each of your mediums, as appropriate.
+ 3 – 4 well-crafted mock-ups of your mediums that can be used in your online portfolio, as appropriate.

PART 3: NARRATIVE PROJECT – REFLECTION
Each of you should be ready to share insights about your work and your experience with the Cross-Media Narrative project at our Exam.

– Which aspect of your narratives are you most proud of?
– If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?
– Anything else you would like to share about your expeirence.

PART 4: CAPSTONE DIDACTIC DELIVERABLES
Capstone Didactic PDF which should include:
1. Further Developed and Refined Capstone Abstract (100-150 words) identifying your target audience,
project goal(s), use of mediums, and rationale for mediums/affordances.
2. Capstone Academic Research – minimum of 5 appropriate sources (Resource: Link to Research Website prepared by Librarian, Natalie Borisovets: https://libguides.rutgers.edu/gdcapstone2026)
3. Capstone Visual Research – minimum of 10 (Visual Research includes inspiration, visual language research and/or studies (imagery exploration, typography exploration/type studies, color palette exploration, etc.)
4. Your Next Steps for Exploration & Capstone Development
Note: You do not need to present your Capstone Didactic, they are for handing-in purposes (digital – via Google Drive folder above) and for your professors to be able to review.
